- This unit outlines the healthy practices that must be followed in early childhood centers to promote well-being and prevent illnesses, emphasizing health and hygiene in the learning environment.
- This unit teaches how to protect children, families, and staff from harm, covering toys and materials, environments, supervision, safety in physical care routines, trips, and vehicle safety to prevent accidents/injuries.
- This unit provides information and resources for effective emergency planning, covering responses to emergencies, post shock management with children, and understanding policies and procedures for various emergency situations, including evacuation procedures and emergency kits tailored for different age groups.
- This unit will teach how to create a secure, interesting, and engaging environment that promotes play, exploration, and learning, with a focus on designing indoor areas that reflect children’s families, cultures, abilities, and interests.
- This unit is designed to help understand the importance of healthier eating and how to plan healthier menus in Early Years settings, introducing Nutrition, healthy and balanced diets, and supporting staff and parents in healthier eating.

This program is designed for those working with young children as; support assistants, administrators, cleaners, nannies, child-minders. It is also suitable for parents, baby-sitters and all adults who have children under their care.
Participants in our programs are expected to spend 3 to 6 hours per week learning. You have 1 month, or 30 days, to complete this program. Guided learning hours are set at 30, based on the average amount of time taken to achieve this qualification over an average completion period of a month. Through our comprehensive approach, we empower educators with the skills and knowledge necessary to create nurturing, stimulating, and safe learning environments for young children.
To sign up for Introduction to Early Childhood Education and Care, you need to meet the following requirements:
- you must be at least 19 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Additionally, basic computer skills and familiarity with using email are essential for participating in the course.
- Meeting these prerequisites ensures that you have the foundational knowledge and technical abilities necessary to succeed in our program.
In order to achieve this certificate, the learner must complete the following:
Quiz: Learners will complete a quiz consisting of multiple-choice questions.
Workbook: Learners will also receive a workbook that includes written assignments and reflective activities. Please note that learners must achieve a minimum score of 70% to pass this unit.

This course is delivered online. Learners will receive a username and password and will gain access to an online learning platform where they will be able to access the course.
